Text mining (TM) is increasingly used to harness the power of unstructured data and analyse such data to discover hidden and new knowledge. TM applications have attracted considerable worldwide attention from both academia and industry over the past few years. However, in Vietnam, TM still remains under-explored due to a lack of communication between different scientific communities. This workshop will explore how text mining can be used to bring together different communities by supporting a number of applications such as publishing, life sciences, evidence-based medicine, biodiversity, etc. in Vietnam.
Building on recent developments of the OpenMinTed project, which supports interoperability between text mining platforms, we will demonstrate text mining applications in the areas of chemistry, neuroscience and biodiversity. OpenMinTeD illustrates the effectiveness of interoperability principles among different text mining platforms, tasks and languages. As part of this workshop, we also invite submissions of abstracts to join this workshop. We welcome abstracts describing text mining and natural language processing research. Interdisciplinary research is particularly encouraged.
